About the Artists
Ira Korman’s portraits, figures and urban landscapes reveal the beauty, power and rhythms of his surroundings. In his recent work, solitary figures in sparse interiors and unpopulated urban scenes possess a sense of reflection and solitude. Korman's work has been shown in solo and group exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Providence, Munich and Innsbruck. The Arkansas Art Center, home to one of the leading permanent collections of drawings in the U.S., acquired his work in 2000. His formal training includes a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. According to the artist, “I was born in New York City into an Orthodox Jewish family. My parents were children of European immigrants and my family’s history has always been an inspiration to me.”

Moira Hahn’s watercolor paintings explore American contributions to the state of the world economy, reliance on foreign oil and concerns about climatic change caused by human activity. The artist’s use of animals as purveyors of social admonition is a direct result of her socio-political awareness and love of animals. She has had two solo exhibitions in Japan as well as three museum exhibitions in California and Hawaii, and will be the subject of a 2009 solo exhibition at the Pacific Asia Museum in Pasadena. Hahn earned a BFA degree at the Maryland Institute College of Art and is currently an Associate Professor of Art at Santiago Canyon College in Orange. She cites her family’s religious history (Hahn’s father was Jewish of German descent) as an influence on her artistic sensibility.
