About the Exhibit

DON WEINSTEIN
Photographer and Father

For many years, Don Weinstein has been on the artistic equivalent of a scavenger hunt. Combining a fine art sensibility with a journalist’s look at contemporary society, he captures the streets of Hollywood through ripped and torn posters that feature movies, magazines and other staples of pop culture. He also works in the area of the portrait bringing a sense of discovery, experimentation and play. Weinstein has exhibited his photographs in galleries across the country and at leading museums such as LACMA, Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. and the High Museum in Atlanta to name a few. He is currently working on a book of his photographs.

RACHEL WEINSTEIN
Photographer and Daughter

Through her lens, Rachel Weinstein attempts to capture everyday life. She photographs the obvious, capturing the momentary images that become obscured by the fact that many people are simply too busy to “see.” Weinstein studied at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts where she honed her eye shooting in the streets of Boston. Though she works in many different styles, she strives to stay true to the idea of combining the obvious and the obscured. Her photography has been exhibited on both coasts and she is currently working on a book of mannequins.
