Bettina Kurowski

General Campaign Chair

Bettina Kurowski is the CEO of Kurowski & Company, Inc., a health care strategy and business development consulting firm that she opened eight years ago.

Before becoming a consultant, she was a pioneer in the managed care industry where she created the first specialty HMO to specialize in cancer treatment. Bettina developed the idea for the company from her many years as a hospital administrator. Her early career included several years as a health services researcher and Associate Professor and Director of the Graduate Program in Health Administration at the University of Colorado’s Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Business, where she taught business policy, planning and marketing.

Dr. Kurowski grew up in Los Angeles, where she graduated with a B.S. degree in economics from USC, with honors. Later, after moving to Denver, she obtained a master’s degree in public finance and a Ph.D. in health care policy and research, both earned with honors, from the University of Colorado.

Bettina’s efforts at fundraising for Jewish organizations spans 25 years. She was chair of the Women’s Business & Professional Divisions for both the Denver Federation as well as the Valley Alliance of the Los Angeles Federation; she also served on its National Board. Bettina was part of the United Jewish Communities’ National Training Institute and the first chair of Health Industries Division in LA. Before becoming Chair of the General Campaign, she chaired both the Israel in Crisis and the General Campaigns for the Valley Alliance. She is also on the Board of the Jewish Home for the Aging in Los Angeles and was honored numerous times by the organizations in which she is involved, including being named by the National Council of Jewish Women as a “Woman of Distinction.”

Ms. Kurowski lives in Encino, California with her husband, Dennis Rose, whom she met on a Federation Mission in Israel. They have four adult children between them and four grandsons.
