Doing what we can to make the world a better place isn't a new idea for the Jewish community. It’s part of who we are. And while the fulfillment of the mandate to heal the world might start with helping a child learn to read or writing a letter to the editor, it doesn't stop there. In Judaism, active participation in the well-being of the greater community is not just a one-time obligation – it's a way of life.
The Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC) has three goals: To speak out on and impact governmental policy To be a passionate advocate for Israel and World Jewry To stand up for social justice
For more than 60 years the Federation has served as a voice of the Los Angeles Jewish community, speaking out on issues of public policy, functioning as a political advocate, taking on the challenges of social welfare in a constantly changing city of incredible diversity, and articulating a range of positions on world events as they affect Israel and Jewish communities throughout the Diaspora. |
