Partnership Grants The Jewish Federation of Greater Los Angeles, in partnership with community synagogues and agencies, is committed to encouraging Los Angeles teenagers and young adults to spend meaningful time in Israel. Our goal is to foster the connection between our countries and to deepen the next generation’s commitment to our people. The Federation partners with more than 90 organizations to help make Israel travel possible for young adults ages of 15-26. For more information and an application, contact Beth Singer at (323) 761-8342 or BSinger@JewishLA.org. Need-based Grants The Federation administers need-based grants for those with significant financial need. These grants are targeted for young adults ages 15-26, going on an approved Israel program, with a permanent residence in the Los Angeles Federation area, or who attend college at a Los Angeles Hillel Council campus. Many factors in addition to income are taken into consideration, including family size and expenses and the cost of the program. Need-based grants may be combined with a Partnership Grant and/or a Jewish Free Loan Association Interest-Free Loan. For more information and an application, contact Beth Singer at (323) 761-8342 or BSinger@JewishLA.org. Marks and Brown Fellowship The Marks and Brown Fellowship was established to fund post-graduate students for intensive, year-long study in Israel. Applicants are required to submit essays, letters of recommendation and school transcripts. Once approved, fellowships of $2,000 are awarded. For more information and an application, contact Beth Singer at (323) 761-8342 or BSinger@JewishLA.org. MASA MASA enables thousands of Jewish youth – college students to age 30 – to spend a semester or a year in Israel in one of more than 150 programs, helping them build a life-long relationship with Israel and a lasting commitment to Jewish life. MASA programs emphasize study, meaningful encounters with Israelis, volunteering and contributing to Israeli society, together with adventures, challenges and networking with young people from other countries as well as Israelis. The program is funded by the Jewish Agency for Israel (a Federation beneficiary agency) and the Israeli government. Vist the MASA site for more information.
