| The Legal Division is an active fundraising group of over 1200 attorneys and other legal professionals. For nearly 60 years, we've shared the common goal of tikkun olam - repairing the world. To help reach this goal, the Division raises over $3 million for The Jewish Federation's Annual Campaign. In addition to fundraising, the Division seeks to involve its members in networking and volunteer opportunities. At events and meetings throughout the year, members can network with attorneys and other Los Angeles professionals in areas such as Real Estate and Entertainment. In addition to our annual dinner, we hold two to three MCLE programs each year, including our well-known Supreme Court Panel with Justices Alex Kozinski and Stephen Reinhardt (now in its 15th year). We provide opportunities to attend special briefings on issues of major importance. Speakers come from Los Angeles, Israel, and from many other countries where The Jewish Federation is hard at work helping people and strengthening communities. EMET Summer Mixer at X-Bar

Donors at all giving levels are encouraged to get involved. Starting in 2005, donors whose gift is $1,000 or more will automatically be part of our Legal Services Division Cabinet, and can be included in our Referral Directory (new this year). Our hope is that our attorneys will use this directory to refer business to other attorneys who participate in the Federation's Annual Campaign. The referral book will also offer the opportunity to purchase advertising space. In addition to individual donors, many L.A. law firms support the Legal Division and receive marketing benefits through annual dinner sponsorships, corporate gifts, and by underwriting event costs. Become part of the Legal Division Cabinet. Become a donor and help us solicit others for a Federation gift. Join us at events during the year. For those seeking a philanthropic "career" path, join our Young Leadership and National Young Leadership programs. Additional volunteer opportunities for attorneys include KOREH L.A., where volunteers help teach local schoolchildren to read; lobbying opportunities in Sacramento and Washington, DC; Jewish Community Relations Committee (JCRC) programs and of course, Bet Tzedek, the only free legal services program for the poor sponsored by a Jewish Community.
