Update: Sderot, Israel
Support of Israel Remains Essential as Attacks Continue in Southern Region

The Israeli city of Sderot, home to 20,000 residents, lays in a fragile locale little more than a half-mile outside the Gaza strip. For the past seven years, the city has been subject to constant attack by Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants using ballistic rockets known as Kassam rockets. These attacks, which are intended to kill civilians with the ultimate goal of driving the residents of Sderot from their homes, actually aim specifically to kill children. They are fired in the morning hours when children are on their way to school and, in some cases, at schools themselves.

These attacks continue on an ongoing basis, making the social services provided to the residents of Sderot more important now than ever. Your support of The Jewish Federation will help ensure that residents of Sderot, receive the aid they need during this challenging time. This is only possible through your generosity. If you have not yet made your gift this year, please do so today by clicking here. We all look forward to the dream of peace. In the meantime, through the gift you make today, you have the power to give our family in Israel peace of mind.
