Sylvia Weisz Women's Campaign

The Sylvia Weisz Women’s Campaign is amongst the most vibrant and active divisions of the Jewish Federation, representing the fasting growing segment of donors, with contributions comprising 25 percent of all contributions to the Federation’s Annual Campaign. The Campaign empowers individual women to make a gift in their own names, ultimately increasing Federation’s overall numbers and our ability to be counted.

The Women’s Campaign consists of women of all ages, and encompasses groups of various giving levels, allowing all women to be included and to participate in creating community and working together towards strengthening and repairing the Jewish community, here in Los Angeles and around the world.

INVOLVEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Chai/ Emerald/ Zahav
Chai/ Emerald/ Zahav is a group of women embodying the highest levels of tzedakah. These exceptional women make an annual contribution of $18,000, $25,000, or $50,000 and above to the Annual Campaign. Every year these women gather to discuss the current state of the Jewish community, determine what more can be done to help, and enjoy the opportunity of being together. Their annual luncheon has featured such accomplished speakers as Ambassador Dennis Ross, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman, Ben Bradlee and George Stephanopoulos.

Etz Hayim (Tree of Life)
A part of the L’dor V’dor Division, Etz Hayim is a new level of giving for women who make a gift of $2500 in their own name to The Jewish Federation. It was created to recognize the commitment of women who are ready to assume a greater role in the on-going support of Jewish life. In acknowledgement of their leadership and generosity, these women can proudly wear the beautiful Etz Hayim Tree of Life Pin. With each $500 increase, you may purchase an additional diamond (up to a total of five) to be set in the branches. With the addition of the final fifth diamond, the Etz Hayim woman donor is now poised to become a member of the Lion of Judah, an internationally recognized group of philanthropic leaders in the Jewish community.

Young Women’s Outreach--Oy to the Vey
The Women’s Campaign is very excited to launch our newest initiative - “OY TO THE VEY”!

This outreach program will bring in new young women (25-40), educate them on the Federation as they come together to have fun.  The programs will primarily be offered during the day.  While there will be no solicitation at these events, hopefully they will be energized to become part of the Women’s L’Dor V’Dor Division.

For more information please contact Courtney Kanner at 323-761-8292 or Ckanner@jewishla.org.
