Youth Groups

Connect with other Jewish teens in your community by joining a local youth group. There's a community out there that shares your interests. These groups participate in all kinds of activities, with lots of opportunities to socialize and participate in community service. Check out the links below to find out more.

BBYO, Inc.
BBYO is the leading pluralistic Jewish teen movement aspiring to involve more Jewish teens in more meaningful Jewish experiences. For more than 80 years, AZA and BBG chapters in communities around the world have been providing exceptional leadership programs and identity enrichment experiences, shaping the lives of 250,000 alumni who are among the most prominent figures in business, politics, academia, the arts and Jewish communal life.

The Bureau of Jewish Education
The Bureau of Jewish Education (BJE) runs several unique programs for Jewish teens. The BJE runs the annual March of the Living trip, Sulam – The Center for Jewish Service Learning and Sulam's Spotlight Awards honoring teens for their commitment to service. The BJE also sponsors a songwriting competition, a youth choir, and the Liana Cohen Music Festival.

Habonim Dror
Habonim Dror is a Labor Zionist youth movement that was born out of the ideals of the Eastern European Youth movements of the early 20th century. They have events throughout the year, including retreats and Israel related programs.

Jewish Community Youth Campaign
The JCYC is made up of teen leaders representing youth movements and Jewish schools from throughout Los Angeles. They organize a city-wide teen fundraising campaign and a mitzvah day program. They also help conduct educational programs on Tzedakah.

The National Conference of Synagogue Youth
The National Conference of Synagogue Youth is affiliated with the Orthodox movement. They have local, regional and national events.

North American Federation of Temple Youth
The North American Federation of Temple Youth is a Reform youth group that is run by the Union of American Hebrew Congregations. It has many regional events throughout the year and has a vast network of temple youth groups in SoCal.

Sephardic Education Center
Sephardic Education Center has opportunities for Sephardic youth to get together and learn about their history and participate in social programming.

Stephen S. Wise Temple Youth
WTY (Wise Temple Youth) is planned and coordinated by and for SSWT teens. WTY members come from different schools – both public and private – the diversity of their schooling adds much flavor & ideas to our youth programs.

United Synagogue Youth
United Synagogue Youth is the youth group affiliated with the Conservative movement. They have Synagogue youth groups in many of the conservative synagogues in the Los Angeles area. The individual youth groups have events on a regular basis and regional events take place throughout the year.

Young Judaea
Young Judaea is a non denominational Zionist Youth Movement sponsored by Hadassah. They have youth groups all over the country including Southern California.
