Our Jewish Federation ended 2016 with a bang, honoring several members of our community with awards in recognition of their years of involvement and dedication to the Federation.

At the Sylvia Weisz Women’s Philanthropy Valley Alliance Awards & Installations Brunch, held at El Caballero Country Club on December 6th, more than 100 guests gathered to honor three dedicated members of the Valley Alliance Women’s Philanthropy Board. Arlene Bloom received the Rita Reznikoff Leadership Award, Ricki Averbach received the Women’s Campaign Award, and Kim Schwarz received the Juliet Award — all well-deserved! At the brunch, the Valley Alliance also unveiled a brand new perpetual plaque honoring past Women’s Philanthropy Chairs, representing more than 50 years of leadership. A dozen past Chairs were on hand to receive recognition for this plaque, which will now hang in the Valley Alliance Boardroom.

A week later, the Valley Alliance Annual Meeting was held at Valley Beth Shalom Synagogue on December 13th. Our Federation honored another group of individuals for their years of service: Sandra Klasky and Margy Rosenbluth each received the Chazak Award, Harold Masor received the Campaign Award, and Stephen Rischall received the Young Leadership Award. We were proud to honor these individuals who represent the very best our community has to offer.
