The Best Jewish Mixer - Ever?

Ok, that may be a stretch. And being the REC Assistant Director, I admit that I'm a bit biased, so let's play it safe and say that the REC Young Leadership's Cocktail Party was one of the best Jewish mixers ever!

What, you might ask, puts an event on the "best ever" level, especially in Los Angeles? Free, unlimited parking of course! That and the fact that the Cocktail Party was a pop-up event, which means that once the clock struck midnight, the DJ and the bar disappeared and the courtyard of the Westfield Office Building went back to being a meeting place for employees on break.

But while the magic of cocktail hour ensued, over 150 people enjoyed free sliders and booze, lounged on couches under the setting sun, and rocked out to a new LA DJ from Double-A Entertainment. It was hip, but relaxed. And the flow provided for top-notch professional and social networking.

My favorite part of the night was that guests weren't just from my REC group. I met a lot of really great people who are affiliated with Federation (and some who aren't) that I'd never had the opportunity to connect with before.

And yes, other people enjoyed the evening too. One of our guests, Cory Gitt, said, "It was a nice mix of people. The venue was cool since it was something different. I'd definitely attend more like it."
