We’re 100 Years Old. Let’s Party!

Our Federation is 100 years old this year – we’ve been helping Jews in Los Angeles and around the world for an entire century – and that calls for a year long celebration!

We’re pulling out all the stops in 2011 to make our Centennial year truly spectacular. Our events feature people at the top of their game, award-winning musicians, chefs, journalists, politicians, and athletes. We’re even venturing out to our homeland. Check out what we have lined-up for April:

Centennial Major Gifts Gala

The details:
April 10, 2011; 6:00 PM
@ Union Station in Downtown L.A.

Why you can’t miss it:
India.Arie, multi-Grammy Award-winner, philanthropist and all-around superstar, and Idan Raichel, one of Israel’s most popular recording artists, will put on a special performance of their new collaboration Open Door. Listen to the track they performed at the Nobel Peace concert in Oslo, Norway this past December called “Gift of Acceptance:”

You can read more about the collaboration on Israelity.com. In addition to an uplifting evening of music, Israeli Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Barak will address guests.

Centennial Lion of Judah Luncheon Gala

Why you can’t miss it:
Campbell Brown, Emmy award winning journalist and one of the most recognizable faces in American news, will speak about her life’s journey from from Southern Belle raised in a Catholic home to proud Jewish mother of two boys. Watch Campbell in action:


We will also honor Sylvia Weisz, whose lifelong commitment to The Jewish Federation, philanthropy and women’s leadership has played such a critical role in our community.

So, what if you can't make it to one of these events? Well, we want you to come check us out! We have a lot of cool events that focus on community building and service. Our most exciting event this year is the Los Angles Community Mission to Israel, which will take place in late October of this year. We’re inviting the entire L.A. Jewish community to join us for a nine-day celebration/adventure in the Jewish homeland. Interested? Attend an info session.

It's going to be awesome! Plus,we have $200 incentives available on a first come first served basis and $1,000 subsidies for 22 - 40-year-olds.
