JPAC Mission Reminder - The annual Jewish Public
Affairs Committee Mission to Sacramento will be held on April
28-29. The mission gives Jewish community activists the chance
to speak with their elected officials and discuss issues relevant
to the Jewish community through a two-day program that includes
workshops, panels, receptions and visits with legislators.
On April 1, the JCRC will hold a pre-Mission Public Policy & Advocacy
Symposium, in conjunction with Jewish Family Service. Join them
as they develop skills and learn how to interact with elected
officials locally and in Sacramento. This is a unique opportunity
to become an advocate for a variety of public policy issues affecting
the Jewish community as well as Federation agencies and the clients
they serve. Come to Sacramento and make your voice heard!
Israeli Knesset Delegation
Update – Recently,
the JCRC hosted a delegation of Israeli Knesset members,
including MK
Yoel Hasson and MK Shlomo (Neguse) Molla from Kadima,
MK Nadia Hilou and MK Ophir Pines-Paz from Labor-Meimad, and MK
Moshe
Kahlon from Likud.
While in Los Angeles, this distinguished
and diverse group of Israeli legislators met with community
and business
leaders, and was honored at a City Hall reception
hosted by City Council
President Eric Garcetti and Councilmember Jack
Weiss. Their visit was an opportunity to discuss shared social,
economic,
and cultural issues facing both Los Angeles and
Israel, while providing Los Angeles natives unique insight into
Israel’s
political culture.
