Young Jews from around Los Angeles will have the opportunity to get together and reminisce about their life-changing trips to Israel at the Taglit-Birthright Israel Reunion.
Guests at the reunion, which will be held at Life Restaurant & Bar
on April 16, will have the chance to reconnect with their bus-mates,
meet people from other Birthright trips, and celebrate Israel’s
60th birthday with Israeli music and food. For those who are interested
in learning about how to return to Israel, representatives from
several programs, including the Jewish Agency for Israel, Israel
Aliyah Center, and MASA Israel Journey, will be at the reunion
to provide information and answer questions.
Anyone who has had the opportunity to travel to Israel with
Birthright is invited to this reunion - whether your trip was
six months or six years ago. Guests are also more than welcome
to bring friends who’ve not yet had the Taglit-Birthright
Israel experience.
The reunion is part of the initiative of post-trip programming
aimed toward Birthright alumni, called Taglit-Birthright Israel
NEXT. In addition to supporting Birthright trips to Israel, the
Federation also sponsors Taglit-Birthright Israel NEXT as a resource
for participants to stay connected and involved with the Jewish
community after they’ve returned from their trip. The Jewish
Federation of Greater Los Angeles was originally one of four
cities in North America to pilot post-trip programming in 2003;
now, more than a dozen communities host chapters of NEXT.
Taglit-Birthright Israel provides the gift of a 10-day peer
group trip to Israel for Jewish young adults. The trip is available
to individuals ages 18 to 26 who have never before visited
Israel
on an organized trip. Taglit-Birthright Israel continues to
be one of the most successful programs in connecting young people
with Israel and strengthening their Jewish identity.
The Taglit-Birthright Israel Reunion is free. For more information
