New Leaders Project

Applications for the New Leaders Project Class of 2016 will open October 1, 2015.

The New Leaders Project (NLP), a premier civic leadership training program of The Jewish Federation’s Community Engagement Strategic Initiative, is an extraordinary opportunity for participants to become the Jewish civic leaders of tomorrow. Participants will learn first-hand how to enhance their leadership capabilities and gain a deep knowledge and understanding of the diverse fabric of our city while working with community leaders to address some of the most critical issues facing Los Angeles. NLP creates a new generation of leaders who approach their roles grounded in Jewish values and educated on the challenges that affect both the Jewish and civic communities.

NLP provides these unique opportunities for civic-minded Jews ages 27-40 years old, who have demonstrated a commitment to civic and/or Jewish leadership. During the year-long program, participants gain a more intimate view of Los Angeles, delve into the Jewish tradition of social responsibility and learn valuable skills that help them contribute to improving our community.

Since its inception 20 years ago, NLP has graduated hundreds of participants and established a significant cohort of alumni who now communicate and network on a regular basis and meet at programs that offer opportunities for dialogue with current leaders in Los Angeles on topics of pressing concern to our city.

Those who are selected to participate will use their vision, talents and experience to work with others to explore emerging issues facing Los Angeles, cultivate new relationships and strengthen their leadership skills to make real change.
