First KOREH L.A. Regional Meeting: A Great Success!

Even the pouring rain could not stop the KOREH L.A. "Team One" volunteers from getting together on Monday for the first-ever KOREH L.A. Regional Meeting! Twenty-five dedicated volunteers, with umbrellas in hand, convened first thing Monday morning at Valley Beth Shalom - all of whom volunteer for KOREH L.A. at elementary schools near the West Valley.

The Regional Meeting brought this group of volunteers together to exchange ideas, experiences, and suggestions with one another. Team One volunteers had the opportunity to hear from me, their KOREH L.A. Literacy Coordinator, on the topic of their choice - "Effective Ways to Work with Restless Students."

In small groups, Team One volunteers also generated solutions for common KOREH L.A. volunteer challenges. Helpful solutions and former experiences were later shared with the entire group.

Reflecting on Monday morning, I was inspired by the high energy of my volunteers that filled the room. This fantastic liveliness truly complimented their genuine willingness to share, listen and learn from one another!

Although Thanksgiving has come and gone, I am very thankful for an enthusiastic group of volunteers who devote their time to giving back to the children of Los Angeles!
