Goodbyes
Michael Jannol
Michael Jannol has completed his second and final term as an AmeriCorps Promise Fellow. He plans to take some time off and finish up school in the L.A. area and looks forward to working for the Jewish Community in the future.
Maria Malagisi
After an exciting year living in Los Angeles and working with KOREH L.A., Maria plans to return home to Rome, New York to spend time with her family. She will miss the close relationships she has made with both her colleagues and volunteers.

Mira Oaten
Mira enjoyed recruiting reading partners for both KOREH and Pre-K KOREH. It gave her a tremendous insight into the effective workings of public relations. She feels privileged to have worked as an Outreach Coordinator. She will be teaching in the Southeast Asian Department of the Defense Language Institute in Monterey.

Sonja Schiller
Sonja Schiller is excited to move to Washington D.C., where she will pursue her graduate degree in International Economics and International Energy Policy at The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies.

Natalay Goldstein
Natalay has enjoyed her year as Literacy Coordinator immensely. While her immediate plans for the future remain undecided, she will take with her a renewed interest in volunteerism and a stronger connection to the youth of L.A.

Kristine Maschhoff
In June, 2006, Kristine graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, where she studied English Literature and Spanish. She can't believe where life has taken her in such a short amount of time--all the way to Los Angeles! She considers it a privilege to be part of the outstanding KOREH staff team, working with this program that truly changes lives and makes a difference.

Lauren Krauss
A Los Angeles native, Lauren recently moved back home after graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a B.A. in Sociology. She is very excited about working with KOREH L.A. and its involvement in the Jewish community to improve literacy in elementary schools. She looks forward to contributing to this effort in the upcoming year.

Tom Meier
Having graduated from USC, Tom Meier is making Los Angeles his home for at least another year to help KOREH L.A. with its vital work in the community. A native of Chicago, Tom has worked as a Teaching Assistant, Special Needs Youth Counselor, and in various other capacities in an effort to put the needs of the next generation first. Tom appreciates KOREH L.A.’s mission to do the same and especially thanks the volunteers and coordinators who make it happen.

Ariel Suarez
Ariel Suarez, a recent graduate of University of Southern California with a B.A. in Psychology, is delighted to stay in the Los Angeles area to work with KOREH L.A. in its endeavors to provide much needed assistance in literacy enrichment to students in elementary schools. He looks forward to working with the volunteers and is truly humbled by their generosity in contributing their time to help the students.

Ruth Thatcher
Ruth Thatcher moved to Los Angeles from Salem, Oregon to experience its diverse community and geography. She attended Occidental College for two years and then decided to experience the real world before choosing a career path. She is looking forward to working for a cause that promotes her love of reading and enriches local communities.
