On Tuesday, June 12, 2007, community members gathered at Brentwood Science Magnet Elementary School to thank Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A. and KOREH L.A. for restocking the school’s library with more than 1,000 new books. As a highlight of the event, Brentwood’s Kindergarten class sang a song called Read me a Story and actor Jeff Lorch led the students in an animated reading of The Napping House. Everyone celebrated the brand new beautiful books that now fill the library, and honored Toyota for their commitment to literacy and the children of Los Angeles.

The restocking is part of KOREH L.A.’s Book Initiative, which was formed to replenish the old, under-stocked libraries of our neediest public elementary schools. Brentwood Elementary School is the ninth library restocked by Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. since 2003, and the eleventh library restocked by KOREH L.A. We look forward to our continued partnership with Toyota to provide the children of Los Angeles with books to read. For more information about the KOREH L.A. Book Initiative, please visit www.korehla.org.
