The Details

Join Dr. Robert Greenberg, renowned teacher and composer, as he leads us through a musical lecture-demonstration that will compare the lives and music of Aaron Copland and George Gershwin, and the manner by which these two American-born Jewish composers synthesized African-American and other indigenous American musics into their own work and, in doing so, helped create the first really identifiably "American concert music." A night of music and learning that is not to be missed!
