Community Service Day

To connect the Jewish community with hands-on volunteer opportunities across our city, we offer community service opportunities that provide volunteers with meaningful and impactful projects addressing issues such as poverty, homelessness, affordable housing, hunger, education, and environmental sustainability. Currently, we are organizing monthly service, learning, and advocacy events, and, in partnership with Repair the World, offer both short and long term immersive service programs — Service Corps & the Fellowship — for L.A.’s young adults.

Our Community Service Days bring the community together for the opportunity to put Jewish values into action throughout greater Los Angeles. Working with a diverse group of our social service partners, we offer volunteers a variety of hands-on activities that make life better for our neighbors.

Whether you want to spruce up an LAUSD school, plant a garden at a shelter, fill backpacks with back-to-school supplies for underserved kids, bake challah while listening to the stories of Holocaust survivors, prepare meals for homebound patients or pick up trash and beautify the beach we invite you to bring your friends and family for a day that makes a difference – to those you’ll help and to you!

Email volunteer@jewishla.org to ensure you get the latest information about opportunities on each of the dates below as they approach.
