Toy & Book Drive


This holiday season, you can send a gift — and a smile — to a child in need with a donation of a new toy or book (or both!). 

The process is entirely virtual. See below for the Amazon Wish Lists of all the organizations we’re partnering with for this drive. Donate straight from there!

Below, you can learn more about the various organizations and access their online registry, to have the gifts sent directly to them:  

1736 Family Crisis Center

1736 Family Crisis Center’s mission is to comprehensively help children, women, men, and families through crisis circumstances, including domestic violence, sexual assault, homelessness, abuse, poverty, human trafficking, and post-traumatic stress, and to improve their prospects for long-term housing, safety, survival, financial stability, and success. The agency operates a wide range of programs and services, directly serving more than 9,000 individuals annually and reaching approximately 24,000 individuals through direct services and community and educational outreach. 

A Safe Place, Inc. – Kings Care

The mission of Kings’ Care – A Safe Place, Inc. is to reduce the impact of homelessness, substance misuse, mental illness, criminal behavior, and its associated problems in the community. We offer sober transitional and sober living houses designed to lessen the social cost of these disorders by promoting wellness and drug-free lifestyles. Our philosophy is focused on the 3 “R’s”: Re-entry, Recovery, and Reunification. Kings’ Care-A Safe Place, Inc. has been providing housing for women, women with children, pregnant women, men, and men with children for over 40 years. We center our housing on mental illness, homelessness concerning offenders and their needs.  This consists of, but is not limited to those suffering from substance misuse, HIV/AIDS, and addictive behaviors. We provide the community with a SAFE and healthy environment in which we can assist a person to change their life forever. We have a clear and concise understanding of this special population due to our years of education, service, and experience. 

Aviva

Aviva believes every child and every family in our Los Angeles community deserves the chance for a brighter future. We provide compassionate support, therapeutic services, and guidance to at-risk children and families. 

Brotherhood Crusade

Brotherhood Crusade’s mission is to remove and/or help individuals overcome the barriers that deter their pursuit of success in life and facilitate opportunities for a better quality of life by effectuating improved health and wellness; facilitating academic success; promoting personal, social, and economic growth; providing access to artistic excellence and cultural awareness; increasing financial literacy; and building community agencies and institutions. 

Bryant Temple AME Church

Bryant Temple AME Church has been a pillar of the Leimert Park community since 1968. Dedicated to supporting families, children, and elders through our efforts, the church strives to demonstrate God’s love by serving the needs of our neighbors as a community-focused organization. Hey Girlfriend Network

Mission – Hey Girlfriend Network is dedicated to providing community outreach to those in need. Throughout the year via social media outreach & word of mouth, we solicit community involvement in providing hygiene products, gently used clothing, food, et cetera for men, women and children who are less fortunate. “If everyone did just one thing to make their local community a better place, it could truly change the world”.

HOLA

Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) helps young people overcome barriers through exceptional, free, integrated programs and personalized guidance in a trusted, nurturing environment.  

Hollenbeck Police
Business Council 

Hollenbeck Police Business Council creates opportunities for inner-city youth to participate in athletic, educational, and community enrichment programs; to build confidence and self-esteem; and to encourage youth to say no to gangs, drugs, and violence and yes to hope, learning and life. 

Jewish Family Service
Los Angeles

We provide life-improving services that help the people of Los Angeles live with dignity and exercise self-determination.  We believe in and strive for a more compassionate Los Angeles where no one has to navigate life alone.

PATH

PATH’s mission is to end homelessness for individuals, families, and communities by building affordable housing and providing supportive services throughout California. 

Sharsheret

Sharsheret, a national Jewish nonprofit organization, improves the lives of women and families living with or at increased genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer through personalized support and saves lives through educational outreach. Sharsheret’s Busy Box program guides parents in supporting their children through a mother’s cancer diagnosis and features a starter kit of games and activities to occupy children while mom is at the doctor or resting after surgery or treatment.  

The Valley Friendship Circle

The Valley Friendship Circle is a 501- C-3 non-profit, non-sectarian organization that addresses the challenges facing the families of  children with special needs in a  novel and innovative way.

Valley Friendship Circle’s unique approach brings together teenage volunteers and children with special needs for hours of fun and friendship. From weekly visits to social & holiday programs and events, these shared experiences empower children with special needs, while enriching the lives of everyone involved. Parents and siblings also receive much-needed respite and support from the Valley Friendship Circle community.

Working Dreams

Working Dreams is a nonprofit dedicated to enriching the lives of foster care children in Los Angeles County.
