Roz & Abner Goldstine

It is our great pleasure and privilege to recognize Roz and Abner for their outstanding leadership and contributions to Camp Ramah as well as to the greater Jewish community. The Goldstine family’s close relationship with Camp Ramah dates from when their son Ethan was a camper. The Goldstines continue to be dedicated generous donors who have been instrumental in growing Ramah and helping children attend camp. Their recent historic gift for the New Machon/Property Capital Campaign named our future Machon village, the Roslyn & Abner Goldstine Machon Shetach.

Abby & Jonny Mars

Abby & Jonny attended Camp Ramah at early ages. Abby started as a Nitzanim camper, and Jonny started in the Gan, when his father, Alvin Mars, became the Camp Director in 1977. After several summers, at Ramah as campers, they ultimately met during staff week in the summer of 1990 under a sapling on the hill — a tree that has grown to become a hill landmark. Abby & Jonny were married in 1996 and have three children — Eli, Nathan and Eva — all of whom count down the days until mid-July every year when they can return to Camp Ramah for another summer. Abby & Jonny have continued their involvement in Ramah. Abby is currently a Yoetzet (parent liaison) during the summer and Jonny serves on the Board of Directors.

Camp Ramah is an American Camp Association accredited, coed, residential summer camp affiliated with the Conservative Movement and National Ramah Commission and operates under the educational auspices of the Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies at American Jewish University.
