Dr. Judea Pearl: Israel on the Campus

Dr. Judea Pearl is Professor of Computer Science & Statistics and Director of the
Cognitive Systems Laboratory at UCLA.  Born in pre-State Israel and educated at the Technion, among other institutions, he is an outspoken opponent of BDS on campus.  Dr. Pearl is the father of slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl Hy”d, who was murdered in 2002 by Pakistani terrorists for his American and Jewish heritage.

“Hate killed my son,” Dr. Pearl has said.  “Therefore I am determined to fight hate.” To perpetuate Daniel’s memory and life’s work, Dr. Pearl co-founded The Daniel Pearl Foundation, which promotes cross-cultural dialogue and understanding, counters intolerance, cultivates responsible and balanced journalism, and inspires unity through annual Daniel Pearl World Music Days.  In 2004, Dr. Pearl and his wife Ruth co-edited the award winning book I Am Jewish: Personal Reflections Inspired by the Last Words of Daniel Pearl.

This talk is part of Beth Jacob’s Modern Minds on Jewish Matters Series.  Open to the community â–ª Free of charge
