Duo Klavitarre in Concert

$15 – $25

Join us for a rare Los Angeles performance by Polish husband-and-wife musicians Jolanta and Maciej Ziemski, known worldwide as Duo Klavitarre, who will present an enchanting program of music from multiple countries and eras. The program will include the work of Chopin and Brahms, as well as Jewish French-Polish composer Aleksander Tansmann, who fled Europe for Los Angeles in 1941 and resumed his career in France after the war.

The two musicians complement each other extremely well and offer instrumental virtuosity coupled with spontaneity and excellent ensemble playing. The unusual combination of piano and guitar, along with a well-selected repertoire, is the basis for their exciting and diverse program of chamber music duets.

Duo Klavitarre will be joined by their students, Robin Braun (guitar) and Annika Schukow (piano)

Duo Klavitarre’s programs include Baroque, Classic, Romantic and modern compositions. With their own arrangements of works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Frederic Chopin, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Astor Piazzolla, and Aleksander Tansmann, these two musicians offer their audiences new musical dimensions with polished, lively and beautiful sounding interpretations. Duo Klavitarre has given recitals in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Venezuela, and the USA.
