As open enrollment for Medical Advantage approaches on October 15th, join our Federation’s Caring for Jews in Need Initiative for an educational presentation that brings awareness about the scams and financial abuses often targeted at seniors and those with diverse abilities who enroll for these and other life-enhancing benefits. Presented by Alisa Anderson, Bet Tzedek Legal Services Elder Abuse Advocate, the discussion and Q&A will provide you with information and resources on how to protect yourself or your loved ones from identity theft and other creative ways that scammers steal personal information and funds.

This program is part of our Front Line Responders Workshop Series and open to professionals in the field as well as all community members.

Alisa Anderson has over 30 years of experience conducting complex felony criminal investigations as well as administrative investigations into violations of the California Insurance Code, Business & Professional Code, Penal Code, and a variety of state and federal laws and regulations. In addition, Alisa has worked in the field providing public education to seniors, law enforcement agencies, and Los Angeles County senior facilities. She currently works as Bet Tzedek’s Elder Abuse Advocate, providing educational seminars, know-your-rights presentations, and trainings for older Jewish adults throughout Los Angeles County as part of Bet Tzedek’s For the Sake of Our Elders: A Campaign to Fight Elder Abuse in the Jewish Community, a program supported by a generous grant from the Jewish Community Foundation of Los Angeles.
