Federation Cares for the Jewish Community in Ukraine

Jewish Federation Los Angeles is closely monitoring the conflict in Ukraine and concerned for the safety of all Jews in the region. For over a century, whenever and wherever there have been threats to Jewish life, the Federation and our partners have been there to provide vital aid and remove those in peril out of harm’s way.

For more than three decades, we have partnered with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) and the Jewish Agency for Israel, which provide humanitarian assistance and Jewish community-building programs to tens of thousands of Jews in the former Soviet Union, including Ukraine. The JDC remains in the region working to ensure the well-being of the Jewish population there. We are also providing support to the Russian-speaking Jews here in Los Angeles, many of whom have loved ones in the region.

We must remember that whenever and wherever one Jew is threatened, we are all threatened. While we are vigilant in these troubling times, we join all of those who wish for peace.
