JFed Volunteers Finish Off 2012 with a Joy-Filled Community Service Day

On Sunday, December 2, The Jewish Federation held its sixth and final Community Service Day of 2012! Over 140 dedicated volunteers participated in projects across the city that benefited families in need and U.S. veterans.

At our Federation’s headquarters, parents and their children assembled care packages for Tomchei Shabbos to distribute to Jewish families in need. At the Ronald McDonald House in Hollywood, we cooked and served a meal to families living at the facility, as well as participated in arts and crafts activities.  We joined forces with Friends and Helpers in Tarzana to wrap holiday gifts and household essentials for families living in shelters. Finally, at the VA campus in Brentwood, over 50 Federation volunteers joined with hundreds of others to help host the annual Veterans Holiday Celebration for veterans and their families and friends!

Thank you to all of our volunteers who made this day so special! See below for photos of our volunteers working hard and giving back.

We hope to see you at our first 2013 Community Service Day on February 10! To be placed on our volunteer e-mail list, please fill out our short volunteer sign-up form. And don’t forget to check us out on Facebook!
