On Sunday, April 29th, over 250 parents and educators from across Los Angeles attended Building Resilience in Teens, our Federation’s LA Jewish Teen Initiative’s first self-run conference.

Featured keynote Julie Lythcott-Haims,* author of the New York Times best-selling book How to Raise an Adult: Break Free of the Overparenting Trap and Prepare Your Kid for Success, inspired the crowd to think deeply about their interactions with their teens and more clearly support and guide them through adolescence.

Following the powerful speech, attendees actively participated in three out of 18 available breakout sessions led by incredible educators, clinicians, and community leaders.

This successful daylong event provided participants with a better understanding of what it means to build resilience in teens and gave them the applicable skills and support with which to assist the teens in their lives.
