Our Federation’s Community Engagement Initiative is thrilled to engage in a multi-year partnership with Resetting the Table to support meaningful, productive conversations on some of the most charged issues L.A.’s Jewish communities face, including Israel, red-blue divides, and others. Building on Federation’s long-standing commitment to bringing together people of diverse backgrounds and views for the common good, this initiative will utilize skilled facilitators to open much-needed communication across divides for Jewish communities across L.A.
Resetting the Table is dedicated to building meaningful dialogue and deliberation across political divides. Drawing from facilitation and mediation expertise, RTT’s unique approach supports participants to move through charged conversations with trained facilitators and a carefully structured process, designed to support stakeholders to speak, listen, challenge each other, and make decisions together with honesty, mutual recognition and respect. RTT has provided communication skill-building workshops, multi-narrative educational sessions, and consultation to hundreds of communities and organizations, including 75+ college campuses, 25 Jewish Federations, and dozens of innovation sector and other major Jewish organizations.
Our program is designed to recruit and train facilitators to lead productive conversations and connect them to Jewish organizations acting as conveners. Through meaningful dialogue, the facilitator and convener cohorts create and strengthen community.
