A diverse group of students and professionals wearing name tags are gathered in a bright conference room, standing and kneeling together for a group photo in front of a presentation screen and a UFEDLA banner.

The Julie Beren Platt Teen Innovation Grant

ARE YOU A TEENAGER WITH A BIG IDEA? LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN WITH A TEEN INNOVATION GRANT!

WHAT IS THE JULIE BEREN PLATT TEEN INNOVATION GRANT (TIG)?

  • It’s an initiative that awards grants to help bring your invention to life.
  • You’ll be surrounded by like-minded teens passionate about making an impact on our community.

JFEDLA values how a teen’s passion, talent, and creativity can shape our community.  TIG encourages you to take a risk, experiment, and explore something you care about.

WHAT DOES TIG OFFER YOU:

  • Funds: This program offers awards up to $1,000 to empower you to turn your idea into reality.
  • Mentorship: You will be paired with a mentor who acts as a thought partner to offer guidance as you work toward new goals.
  • Workshops: Challenge yourself, gain confidence, and learn valuable time and budget-management skills through interactive group sessions.

Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year are closed.
