Civic Partners


JFEDLA’s Civic Partnership program, founded in 2021, is dedicated to forging impactful, long-term collaborations with nonprofit organizations in Los Angeles that have a proven track record of addressing racial and systemic inequities. Our goal is to build meaningful, sustainable relationships with civic leaders and organizations driving lasting change in their communities. By deepening our collaboration and amplifying their efforts, together, we are creating a more just and equitable society.

Alliance for a Better Community

The mission of Alliance for a Better Community is to advance social, economic, racial equity and justice for the Latina/o community and the Los Angeles region through power building and policy advocacy. Our vision is to ensure a vibrant Los Angeles region where Latinas/os fully participate in, contribute to and benefit from a prosperous, multi-ethnic community in which families enjoy: full and meaningful participation in civic and economic arenas; full access to high performing schools and increased opportunity to attend college; and access to quality healthcare.

Brotherhood Crusade 

Brotherhood Crusade is a 50-year-old grassroots organization committed to improving the quality of life and meeting the unmet needs of low-income, underserved, under-represented and disenfranchised individuals. The organization facilitates opportunities for a better quality of life by effectuating improved health & wellness, facilitating academic success, promoting personal, social & economic growth, providing access to artistic excellence & cultural awareness, increasing financial literacy and building community agencies & institutions. Since its founding, it has provided social services to more than 100,000 residents of South L.A. annually.

CAUSE 

Center for Asian Americans United for Self-Empowerment (CAUSE) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, community-based organization with a mission to advance the political and civic empowerment of the Asian Pacific American community through nonpartisan voter outreach, training, and education as well as leadership development. 

Equality California  

Equality California brings the voices of LGBTQ+ people and allies to institutions of power in California and across the United States, striving to create a world that is healthy, just, and fully equal for all LGBTQ+ people. 

FACE LA 

Faith & Community Empowerment (FACE) serves as both a light and bridge between the Asian American community and the community at large by connecting and creating private and public collaboration, maximizing the capacities of faith-based organizations and other community nonprofits, increasing access to resources and funds, assisting low-income individuals, and revitalizing neighborhoods. 

Fulfillment Fund 

Fulfillment Fund works to make college a reality for students from educationally and economically under-resourced communities. Together, the organization and the communities it serves build pathways to college, navigate educational barriers, create support networks, and empower future leaders. 

HOLA 

Heart of Los Angeles (HOLA) helps young people overcome barriers through exceptional, free, integrated programs and personalized guidance in a trusted, nurturing environment. 

HOPE 

Hispanas Organized for Political Equality® (HOPE) is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization committed to ensuring political and economic parity for Latinas through leadership, advocacy, and education to benefit all communities and the status of women. 

HOPICS  

Homeless Outreach Program Integrated Care System (HOPICS) is dedicated to providing the highest quality innovative social service to South Los Angeles with an emphasis on behavioral health and housing stability. 

KYCC 

Koreatown Youth and Community Center’s (KYCC) mission is to serve the evolving needs of the Korean American population in the Greater Los Angeles area as well as the multi-ethnic Koreatown community. KYCC’s programs and services are directed toward recently immigrated, economically disadvantaged youth, and families, and promote community socioeconomic empowerment. Founded in 1975, KYCC expanded from being an ethnically focused agency to serving the neighborhood community. Today, KYCC serves over 15,700 people each year across 12 different locations and has grown their staff to reflect the communities served.

LA84 – Play Equity Fund 

LA84 provides equitable access to sport, play, and movement critical to the healthy development of young people and children. Research has shown the importance of sports and structured play in kids’ lives. LA84 approaches this issue through a social justice lens and works to advance sustainable systemic solutions. The Play Equity Fund is the cornerstone of this movement. 

SoLa Foundation 

SoLa Foundation works to end intergenerational poverty in South Los Angeles through community development, access to education, and economic opportunity.
