Wildfire Crisis Relief


In response to the devastating fires impacting Los Angeles, the Jewish community has mobilized to provide essential resources, including mental health support, warm meals, shelter, and space for displaced individuals, families, and institutions. Below is a list of available resources and contacts.  

This information is confirmed as of 2/12/2025 at 4:00 PM. We will continue to update as information changes.

  • JFEDLA Community Call Line: For assistance, call (855) JFED-HLP.  
  • Jewish Federation Los Angeles partner, Jewish Family Service LA (JFSLA), is providing the following support: 
    • Call JFS Central Access at (877) 275-4537 or email services@jfsla.org for help. Social workers can connect you with JFSLA services and programs and provide referrals to other providers. 
       
    • Resources for seniors: Neighborhood dining centers are open to seniors needing hot and nutritious lunches. The dining centers are open Monday-Friday, with 13 locations across Los Angeles. Kosher dining is available at select centers. For a list of hours, locations and age eligibility for the meal centers, please visit jfsla.org/dining-centers or call the JFS Senior Nutrition Office at (323) 937-5843
       
    • SOVA Community Food & Resource Program: Open to anyone needing access to fresh, healthy groceries, essential personal care items and connections to additional resources for individuals and families. SOVA offers kosher options, and you may choose the food that works best for you. Visit jfsla.org/food-pantries for more info. 
       
    • If you are experiencing domestic violence, please call JFSLA’s 24-hour Crisis Line: (818) 505-0900 or (323) 681-2626. 
       
  • Jewish Free Loan Association (JFLA): Offering zero-interest, zero-fee emergency loans of up to $15,000 for essential expenses, such as temporary housing, food, medical costs, for eligible applicants, and more. Loans of up to $2,000 are available without guarantors. Apply Now: JFLA Emergency Loan Application. JFLA’s emergency loans can be used to cover expenses such as:  
    • Hotel or motel rooms  
    • Short-term rentals through Airbnb, VRBO, or other platforms  
    • Travel outside of the Los Angeles area  
    • Other temporary accommodations for evacuees  
  • L.A. Councilwoman Heather Hutt, Brotherhood Crusade, Los Angeles Sentinel and other groups, are hosting a food distribution on February 20th, 3:00PM-6:00PM at the Los Angeles Sentinel, located at: 3800 Crenshaw Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90008.  
  • JVS SoCal provides Rapid Response services to businesses in partnership with the County of Los Angeles. This includes helping businesses with layoff aversion services, connecting them with county resources and loans, and helping their employees get back to work quickly or get retraining.   • West Los Angeles Americas Job Center (AJCC) of Los Angeles offers job readiness, career coaching, access to training, and assistance with finding a job. These services can be reached by contacting the WLA AJCC/WorkSource Center office at 310-309-6000. You may also learn more here.
  • Chai Lifeline West Coast is donating air filters for anyone interested. Call Chai Lifeline West Coast at (310) 274-6331 or the Crisis Response Line at: (855) 3-Crisis. 
  • T-Mobile: T-Mobile is providing unlimited talk, text, and data to customers in fire affected areas through February 15. Click here for more details.  
  • Uber: Use promo code WILDFIRE25 in the wallet section of your Uber app to redeem a free Uber ride up to $40.  
  • The Iranian American Jewish Federation (IAJF) is offering those impacted by the fires assistance with translation, form completion, and psychotherapy. For more information, please contact the IAJF-Emergency Fund at 323-654-4700 or efapplicant@gmail.com. Please ask for Nasrin. 
  • Human-I-T:  Human I-T is offering free laptops and hotspots to those affected by the wildfires. Eligible residents can find more information and complete the enrollment form here.  
  • American Red Cross:  is offering immediate financial assistance for those impacted by the California wildfires. Find information about this program and other resources at: www.redcross.org/gethelp or call1-800-RED-CROSS (800-733-2767) to enroll, confirm eligibility, and receive financial assistance. Enrollment in this program ends on February 14.  
    • If you need assistance locating a missing loved one because of the fires, the Red Cross may be able to help. Visit redcross.org/findfamily or contact them at 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) 
  • The Suay Sew Shop is offering free clothing, water and food for fire victims this weekend. Head to their shop at 905 Mateo St., Los Angeles, 90021 anytime from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. If you have a specific request for an item, you may submit it here
  • Shemesh Farms with Shalom Institute has partnered with Composed Living in Woodland Hills to offer donated goods, including tote bags and backpacks, school supplies, new and gently used clothing and personal hygiene products and toiletries. Location:  20929 Ventura Blvd, Ste Suite 30, Woodland Hills (in the Country Mart). Shopping hours: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM daily.  
  • LA Disaster Relief Navigator, powered by Better Angels and Imagine LA, is an online tool that helps those impacted by the fires effectively navigate the many resources available to them, including applying for federal, state, and local government assistance, making insurance claims, home damage remediation, temporary and permanent housing solutions, and other critical services.   • The National Council of Jewish Women is supporting displaced individuals and families by offering a thousand $100 vouchers to be used at the Council Shop secondhand, stores. In the months to come, there will be higher dollar-value vouchers available for families rebuilding their homes. The current vouchers are intended to help address immediate clothing needs.   • Better Angels has launched a rapid-response Emergency Assistance Fund to support low-income families that have been impacted by the fires. The grants can be used for essentials, including food, clothing, and personal items. Applications will be reviewed, and funds will be distributed daily. Apply here. 
  • Anna Abramzon Studio is providing free replacements for ketubahs lost in the wildfires. For more information, contact studio@annaabramzon.com and complete the ketubah replacement form here.  
  • Medical Supply Distribution: You’re Just My Type 1 has gathered a variety of donated T1D supplies, including insulin, CGM supplies, pump supplies, glucometers, test strips, and more. If you or someone you know is in need due to the LA wildfires, visit their pop-up pick-up event and collect what you need. Hours: Monday – Wednesday 9:00AM-6:00PM, Thursdays 1:00PM – 6:00 PM, Fridays, 9:00AM-6:00PM, Saturdays & Sundays, 1:00PM –6:00PM. Location: Foshay Lodge, 9635 Venice Blvd, Culver City, CA, 90232.   • FACE is providing DoorDash gift cards to support individuals and families affected by the disaster. They are offering $50 gift cards for households of one and up to $100 in gift cards for households greater than one.  Gift cards will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.   • Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles (JBBSLA) offers professionally supported, free, one-to-one mentoring for youth ages 6-17. An additional committed and positive adult role model can be the difference a child needs.   • Fair Oaks Laundry will help those who lost their homes in the Eaton Fire do up to six regular loads of laundry for free, every Wednesday evening, from 5:30PM – 8:30PM. Location: 1343 N. Fair Oaks Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91103. Reserve your spot here.

Brandeis Bardin Campus of American Jewish University (AJU) 

AJU is offering faith services to any congregation that lost its physical space due to the fires, including hosting services for weddings or memorials. If you are looking for temporary lodging as well, limited cottages may be available. de Toledo High School 
The campus remains open for evacuated families and Jewish institutions requiring workspace or storage for valuable items, including Torah scrolls. Contact the school at (818) 348-0048.

For any families who have lost their high school due to the fire, de Toledo high school has set up an expedited admissions process to help any Jewish family who is no longer able to go back to their school. B’nai David Judea 
B’nai David is offering displaced persons a warm invitation to join for Shabbat services.  If you are a member of the community that has been affected by the fires or an organization in need of volunteers, please be in touch with director@bnaidavid.com for communal resources. 

Jewish Nevada Federation 
Jewish Nevada has coordinated resources for those who have evacuated to Nevada. If you or someone you know has evacuated from Los Angeles County and needs immediate help, please contact Ethan Shapiro immediately at 702-732-0556 or ethan@jewishnevada.org. Heritage Pointe (Orange County) 

Heritage Pointe has a small but beautiful sanctuary which can be made available to anyone displaced who is looking for a place to host a b’nai mitzvah ceremony or other life cycle milestone (up to 50 people). Kol Tikvah 
Invites any displaced religious school students to Sunday morning programs and/or teens in 7th and 8th grade to Teen Tuesday on Tuesday evenings. For information, email Laureen Waterman at executivedirector@koltikvah.org

Leo Baeck Temple 
Leo Baeck Temple will offer assistance to those requesting help, and though the campus is currently closed, will make space available to those who need it in the coming days. Contact them at (310) 476-2861.

Milken Community School 
Milken’s East Campus (formerly AJU) is available for organizations needing temporary operational spaces. 

Nefesh 
Nefesh can offer storage and a warm invitation to Shabbat Morning services.

Sinai Temple

Stephen Wise Temple 
Whether you’ve been personally affected by the fires or are looking for means to help those who have been, Wise has put together a list of resources, citywide support services, and opportunities to make a difference. Wise has coordinated several upcoming volunteer and donation initiates and wishes to invite anyone throughout the community to join in participating. Temple Beth Am 
Temple Beth Am has opened its community and campus to host a Shabbat dinner for any/all in the wider Jewish community who are directly impacted by the fires (those who have lost their homes; or are evacuated from their homes; or who are hosting evacuees, etc.). Temple Isaiah

University Synagogue Orange County

Temple Akiba of Culver City 
Temple Akiba is open to anyone needing a quiet space to think, pray, or work. Contact them at (310) 398-5783.

Temple Emanuel of Beverly Hills 
Temple Emanuel invites those displaced to our neighborhood to join our community for services and support. Contact them at info@tebh.org or 310-288-3737 for more information and to speak with a staff member. Temple Emanuel can accommodate a limited number of students aged two to five to our ECC for families with young children displaced to our area. Please email ecc@tebh.org

Other Locations  

Planet Fitness 
Locations in L.A. are offering anyone affected by the fires, including first responders, free access to their facilities, including showers, massage chairs, locker rooms, and WiFi. Contact the club near you for more information and hours.

Project: Camp 

A registered 501(c)3 nonprofit, whose vision is to provide care for every child impacted by disasters. They pop up free, trauma-informed day camps for children impacted by natural disasters. Children process extreme events very differently than adults and we create unique spaces to help provide them with structure and normalcy, giving parents, first responders, schools, and child care networks time to implement a plan for what comes next. Their camps provide trauma-informed care to children during and right after emergencies, incorporate volunteer childcare professionals (teachers, camp counselors, etc.), offer critical social-emotional learning and mental health support, and provide stopgap continuity of care for first responders and schools during disasters. Boomtown Brewery 
Located in the Arts District, they are offering to open its tap room during the day for those who need a place to be and/or WiFi, email or DM on Instagram.

Odyssey Games 
Evacuees can charge cell phones, use the restroom, and grab a snack, 1795 E. Colorado Blvd., Pasadena, CA 91106. 

Pendulum Property Partners 

Pendulum Property Partners is providing free workspace for wildfire evacuees and victims. Their space includes desks, Wi-Fi, and supplies. It is located at: 3000 S Robertson Blvd, Suite 225, Los Angeles, CA 90034. 

Western Justice Center  

Western Justice Center is offering free meeting and workspace at their Maxwell House campus for nonprofits and community partners displaced by the LA County fires. For availability, contact Colin Dueweke at colin@westernjustice.org, or reach out to Cindy Arenas at cindy@westernjustice.org for larger gatherings. 

Calico Fish House  
Offering to feed evacuees and let them camp out in the restaurant’s parking lot, 16600 Pacific Coast Highway.  

Black Lantern Books / Black Lantern Coop  
Open from 12PM – 7PM, they are providing food, water, bathroom, showers and Wi-Fi for fire displaced community members. They are located at 6533 West Blvd Inglewood, CA 90302 LA

Skid Row People’s Market  
Offering free masks to the public, located at 453 S San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90013.  

American Red Cross
If an emergency has forced you to evacuate your home, or disrupted your access to essential services, the Red Cross may be able to help. Use the shelter Locator to find housing.  

Los Angeles-area YMCA locations  
Local YMCAs are offering free childcare for children of first responders, essential workers and families who have been displaced, evacuated or who have otherwise experienced loss. Children must be at least 4 years, 9 months old up through eighth grade to attend the program. Space is limited. For more information or to sign up, contact afterschool@ymcaLA.org. LA County Parks and Recreation  
The City of LA has set up Care Camps throughout the city to provide emotional support for youth and children. To support families impacted by the Eaton fire, LA County Parks Care Camps will provide youth and teens with a supportive space for fun and recreation including music, arts and crafts, sports activities and field trips to the LA County Natural History Museum, La Brea Tar Pits, Dodger Stadium, & more. Boys and Girls Clubs  
Some Boys and Girls Clubs in the Los Angeles region are extending hours to provide support and shelter for youths and families. Participating clubs are offering safe spaces and distributing prepared meals and emergency child-care assistance. Contact your local Boys and Girls Club before visiting to ensure it is participating. Community Resource Center in Pomona is offering free resources including child supervision, health and wellness classes, enrollment in low/no-cost healthcare, on-site referrals, and much more, Monday through Friday, 9:00AM-5:00PM. The Community Resource Center is located at 696 West Holt Ave., Pomona 91768. The Center also offers a Free Food Pantry the last Friday of every month from 12:00PM-4:00PM. Anderson Munger Family YMCA  
For impacted community members throughout LA, the Y located at 4301 W. Third Street, Los Angeles CA 90020 is providing no-cost services and support in the following ways: 

  • Immediate Support and Resource Hub 
  • YMCA centers have been converted into temporary evacuation sites, offering shelter, showers, and basic amenities 
  • Each center will serve as distribution points for emergency supplies 
  • Their parking lots serve as staging areas for emergency vehicles and safe spaces for community members to park 
  • Their gym spaces will serve as donation sorting/storage areas 
  • They will provide free access to YMCA amenities to displaced residents 
  • Offer mental health support through our existing counseling programs 

Center Theater Group Culver City 
The Center Theater Group is available to shelter people in Culver City. Contact them at (213) 628-2772. 

Venice Family Clinic 
The clinic is hosting an emergency wildfire support distribution on Friday, January 17, from 2-4pm at 2509 Pico Blvd., Santa Monica, CA 90405 (Simms-Mann Health and Wellness Center). They will distribute free food, water, basic needs and supplies.

Lodging (Discounted, Free or Available) 

  • The Hotel Association of Los Angeles has compiled a list of hotels offering discounted rates for displaced individuals. Please click here to view the list. 
  • The City of Anaheim has complied an online list of hotels within the city that are offering discounted rates for victims who have been displaced by the fire. The 39 hotels offering discounts include Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort and Spa, Clementine Hotel and Suites Anaheim, Clarion Hotel Anaheim Resort, and Cambria Hotel and Suites Anaheim. 
  • Airbnb, with assistance of 211 LA, is offering temporary housing to those affected. You can get help – or provide help – at Airbnb.org/lawildfires. 
  • TruAmerica is offering short term rental housing options to those that have been displaced due to the wildfires at all of their L.A.-based apartment communities. The company revised its rental criteria to help make the move-in process as easy as possible and is also developing programs to provide additional services such as move in assistance, flexible rent payments, and rent payment relief. A list of TruAmerica’s available local properties can be found here. 

  • Animal Disaster Response Hotline: for animals in distress in the restricted areas, please call the L.A. animal services disaster response hotline: 213-270-8155. You will be asked to leave a message with the vital information. Teams of animal control officers are dispatched the same-day or the following day, depending on the time of the call. Once a team has visited your property, you will receive a call with information on the actions taken. Please use this number to request assistance. At this time, law enforcement is only permitting animal control officers into restricted areas.

Maple Counseling 

  • Maple Counseling is looking for licensed therapists to volunteer their services for those impacted by the fires. By volunteering, therapists commit to providing six free sessions. Out-of-state licensed therapists can provide telehealth services. To help, please sign up here.

Dream Center  

The Dream Center is accepting donations daily at the Emergency Shelter, 2301 Bellevue Ave., Los Angeles 90026, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Visit their Instagram @ladreamcenter for an updated list of accepted items. Volunteers can also lend a hand during ongoing shifts, available Monday through Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Rebuilding Judaica 

Rebuilding Judaica is collecting Shabbat candlesticks, seder plates, menorahs, kiddush cups, challah covers, kippahs and other Judaica items to donate to wildfire victims. You may drop off items on Fridays from 9:00AM-3:00PM. Reach out to chloeconroy40@gmail.com and amyjillconroy@gmail.com for the delivery address.  

BreastfeedLA 

BreastfeedLA has partnered with North Valley Caring Services to collect unused or new lactation supplies, diapers, wipes, car seats, and menstrual products to support families in need. KAUSE 

KAUSE is distributing and collecting hygiene essentials for families with children, impacted by the fires. They are located at 4902 W. Slauson Avenue, LA 90056. For more information or to arrange a drop-off or pick up, contact KAUSE at 424-248-7475 or kause-losangeles@hotmail.com.  

Aveson Community Organization  

Averson Community Organization is seeking volunteers with expertise in legal, insurance, construction, and mental health to assist families impacted by the Eaton fire. Volunteers can sign up here. 

County of Los Angeles Fires Response 

The County of Los Angeles is coordinating donations to support those impacted by the fires. Community members are encouraged to complete the this form to offer food, water, supplies, or volunteer assistance, and the team will help facilitate contributions. 

Flintridge Retreat Center

The Union Rescue Mission 

The Union Rescue Mission located at 545 San Pedro St, Los Angeles, CA 90013, is seeking volunteers aged 14 and older for daily shifts between 5:30 AM and 8:00 PM. If you’re interested in volunteering, email volunteer@urm.org

Santa Monica College 

Santa Monica College, located at 1900 Pico Blvd, Santa Monica, CA 90405, is offering volunteer opportunities for individuals aged 12 and older to help sort and distribute items. Shifts are available from 10 AM to 1 PM, 12 PM to 3 PM, and 3 PM to 6 PM. Volunteers under 18 must be accompanied by a guardian. 

  • JFEDLA’s Ezra Network, in partnership with JFSLA, can help you access social services. You can reach their team of social workers at 844-255-3972, job counselors at 310-622-3844, and legal counselors at (323) 549-5827. 
  • JFEDLA’s Caring for Jews in Need team is working to extend available services to anyone in the Jewish community who is feeling the weight of these tragic events. If you receive a call from someone who needs support, you may refer them to our Federation’s Community Call Line 855-JFED-HLP. Currently calls are monitored Monday-Thursday 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Fridays from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM. We will triage all calls so that those with the most urgent needs will be responded to first. 
  • The Jewish Community Mental Health Initiative (JCMHI) is offering free virtual support groups for Jewish adults and affinity groups, including groups for the LA community impacted by the wildfires. These sessions are facilitated by licensed mental health professionals trained in Psychological First Aid, an evidence-informed approach to providing support and fostering community healing after traumatic events.   • Maple Counseling Center’s Briskin|Wilder Welcome Center offers a variety of sliding scale counseling and insurance navigation services for the Jewish community. For all those impacted by the wildfires, Maple Counseling Center is offering: 6 free therapy sessions, free assessment within 48 hours, and guidance with resources and insurance navigation. Maple answers calls live. If your call goes to voicemail, they respond within 24 hours. (310) 271-9999 x223. 
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness: NAMI’s Warm Line: (310) 889-7200. You can reach the Crisis Text Line by texting NAMI to 741741. NAMI also offers free mental health support groups for individuals and families  to help navigate the emotional toll of this crisis.  
  • Our longtime partner Jewish Family Service LA (JFSLA) is also there to support the community. Whether you are seeking a listening ear, or resources, JFSLA is available to help at this time. You may also reach out to them directly at (877) 275-4537 or email services@jfsla.org.
  • Chai Lifeline – Chai Lifeline West Coast’s Crisis Team is providing vital support, counseling, and resources for families during this challenging time. Anyone needing assistance can contact their office at (310) 274-6331. 
  • Beit T’Shuvah is offering free mental health and spiritual counseling to those affected by the Los Angeles wildfires. For support, call 310.204.5200 x221 or email sjacobs@beittshuvah.org. 
  • Disaster Distress Helpline (DDH) – This toll-free, multilingual, crisis support service is available 24/7 to all residents in the U.S. and its territories who are experiencing emotional distress related to natural or human-caused disasters. Call or text: (800) 985-5990. 
  • Chai Lifeline Contact the 24-hour confidential crisis line at (732) 377-5135 or email crisis@chailifeline.org. For anyone else in need, please contact 855-3-CRISIS. 
  • The Center for Mental Health Excellence is offering free mental health services for individuals and families impacted by the LA wildfires. Their goal is to provide immediate support during this difficult time. If you or someone you know needs help, please contact them at admin@CFMHE.org or call (619) 356-0072. 
    Here’s an overview of the services they are offering: 
    • Free Therapy Sessions: Up to 8 free therapy sessions for individuals, couples, and families affected by the wildfires, with the option for a sliding scale afterward. 
    • Free Virtual Support Groups: These groups are designed as standalone sessions, meaning clients can attend without any commitment to future sessions. This flexibility allows participants to join as needed, based on their availability and emotional needs. 
    • Hours of Operation: We are available to take calls from 8 AM to 8 PM. If we are unable to answer immediately, we aim to return calls within an hour.  
  • Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) 
    Offers mental health services to individuals affected by disasters. Their website and number is (800) 854-7771. 
  • The Help Group is working to provide mental health support for neurodivergent individuals. The Help Group remains a resource for anyone in the community. Call (877) 943-5747.  
  • Lumina Counseling is offering same-day virtual therapy sessions for individuals and families. Their compassionate therapists provide a safe space for healing and addressing the emotional toll of trauma and displacement. Click here to learn more.

  • The National Child Traumatic Stress Network has developed resources to help children, families, and communities navigate what they are seeing and hearing, acknowledge their feelings, and find ways to cope together, in response to wildfire.   • Integrative Psychotherapy Group, based in Beverly Hills, is offering free short-term therapy services to some fire victims and referral assistance for others needing longer-term or more acute treatment during the upcoming weeks. IPG is offering a brief series of trauma-focused therapy sessions to help individuals, couples and families process the complex emotions that can arise in the immediate aftermath of wildfires and similar natural disasters.
