KOREH L.A.
We are people of the book. Yet, the absence of books and a high illiteracy rate have a profound impact on our city and society. Through KOREH L.A., The Jewish Federation's literacy program, we address the literacy crisis and growing achievement gap in our public schools. Read more about the achievement gap and its consequences.
KOREH L.A. is the largest volunteer children's literacy program in the city. Over the past 12 years, the Federation has trained and placed over 10,500 volunteers as reading partners reaching over 22,000 LAUSD students in high risk schools. Read more about KOREH LA here.
Join us as a KOREH L.A. volunteer and change the life of a student. For more information, please contact Kristine Eller at (323) 761-8153 or Literacy@JewishLA.org.
