Our free, 10-day Birthright LA Way trips build identity, help young adults experience all the Jewish homeland has to offer, and allows them stay connected to the L.A. Jewish community when they return home.
Our Impact In Israel
The Federation identifies the greatest challenges faced by the people of Israel and addresses them by building on the opportunities we see to help create and sustain civil society.
To learn more about our impact on the lives of our Israeli brothers and sisters, to support our work or to see it for yourself on an upcoming Federation mission, contact Israel@JewishLa.org.
Our Birthright Israel Madrichim (staff) reach out to young Jewish adults in two ways. They lead them on a life-changing trip in Israel and help them connect to the Jewish community (and themselves) once they’re back home in L.A.
We organize and host trips with elected officials and civic leaders of Los Angeles in order to enhance collaboration and provide connection to Israel and its democracy.
We offer young professionals the skill-building, life-changing experience they need to become leaders in our community. This 15-month program includes mentoring, networking, retreats, and a trip to Israel.
With 18 schools in Los Angeles, 18 in Tel Aviv and one in Vilnius, Lithuania to date, this is the largest Jewish student delegation program ever! The addition of a school in the Baltics embodies the ultimate goal of this record-breaking program: to create relationships and unite Jewish communities around the world.
On behalf of our Jewish community, we create and strengthen relationships with civic and thought leaders, candidates for office, and elected officials and encourage involvement in our city – to build a better Los Angeles and to protect Israel.
We send educators on a life-changing mission to Israel so they can then share their first-hand knowledge with high school students throughout L.A. using specially-created curricula. Working with the Southern California Archdioceses, Protestant schools, and diverse Charter and/or public high schools, this program provides teachers and students a nuanced understanding of modern Israel – the only democracy in the Middle East.
We help committed L.A. couples — specifically welcoming those who are interfaith and LGBTQ — to experience all the Holy Land has to offer on Honeymoon Israel.
Are you dreaming of what it would be like to float in the Dead Sea, ride a camel in the desert, climb Masada or touch the Western Wall? We can help you travel to Israel and make your dream a reality through Israel Experience Grants.
We invest in returning Birthright Israel participants and staff through the Kahn and BRIdge fellowships, empowering them with tools, skills, and resources to create meaningful Jewish experiences for their peers throughout L.A.
We provide over 200 individualized Israel experiences for young adults ages 18-30 – from study abroad to volunteer opportunities to internships to graduate degree programs – working in partnership with the Jewish Agency for Israel and the Israeli government.
Want to live and work in Israel? Onward Israel allows you to experience Tel Aviv as a resident while building your resume.
Are you looking for a way to pursue short- and long-term immersive experiences that will help you forge a deeper connection to Jewish life? We have scholarships and subsidies that can help.
