Chained – a staged reading

When “happily ever after” goes sideways you file for divorce. Simple, right? But what happens when you must abide by Jewish divorce law and your spouse refuses? Jewish law requires that the husband give his wife a formal release called a GET. Without it she cannot date or even marry again. In effect, she is chained to her spouse forever.
Chained, a new play by Sonia Levitin tackles this difficult subject. Divorce is emotional, but this divorce is even more traumatic as both partners have hidden agendas.
