The Magic of Sukkot, Shake Your Lulav and Travel in Time at Hollywood Temple Beth El

            Yuval Burnett, of the Jubilation Musical Society and Rabbi Norbert Weinberg, accompanied by Ellen Kennedy, will lead in a medley of music and meditations to welcome in the Sukkoth Festival on Sunday evening, September 27, at 6:00 PM in a celebration of song, spirit and soul to usher as they explore the magic of Sukkoth, shaking the lulav, and time travel at Hollywood Temple Beth El.             Following the rocking Sukkoth event, participants are welcome to “ Bring-your-own-basket” of dairy or vegetarian foods to enjoy the observance of dwelling in the Sukkah.

            Yuval (Bill) Burnett’s songs have been recorded & performed around the world by Bette Midler, Patti Lupone, and dozens of others. He and his wife, Debrah LaMattre, are well known at Hollywood Temple Beth El, where they have led musical Seders. His musical theater company, Jubilation Musical Society, has performed the original Jewish musicals,  “The Young Maccabees” and “MEM”. His most recent “Guitorah” concert examined the Megillah through “drashsong”, a new liturgical/musical form.

First day Festival Service, Monday, September 28,. 9:30 AM, marked by the waving of the Lulav and Etrog, palm branch and citron.

Shmini Atzeret, “ 8th Day of Assembly” services, marking the closing of the festival season that began with Rosh Hashanah, and Memorial Yizkor services, Monday, Oct.5, 9:30 AM

Simchat Torah, Rejoicing in the Torah, marking the conclusion of the annual cycle of reading the Five Books of Moses, with singing and dancing, Monday, Oct. 5, 6:30 PM.
