Un-Orthodox’ Spiritual Washing Ceremonies from the Jewish Tradition

This event is part of Jewish Wisdom & Wellness: A Festival of Learning, April 26 May 3, 2015.

Un-Orthodox Spiritual Washing Ceremonies from the Jewish Tradition (2 hours) The home funeral movement is sweeping the country with families choosing to keep their loved one home for a little bit longer following death, so as to wash, dress, and honor them in a ritual of closure and healing. This course will present the Jewish version of this process, drawn from the customs of tahara but with todays families in mind.
