Winter 2016 Early Childhood Special Needs Symposium- Seminar 2 (JDAIM)

Please join us for a series of evenings designed for early childhood teachers, directors, specialists, parents and other ECE professionals. Each evening will be hosted by a school located within the Greater Los Angeles area as we are joining together in unity and with strength of numbers to ensure that every child and every family has a place in our community.   UCLA Education Extension offers Early Childhood Education units for attendance with the addition of a short essay assignment. Each three seminars you attend could provide you with one ECE unit for a maximum of three units. Additional information will be provided to UCLA Extension participants.   —————————————————————————————————- SEMINAR 2: “Understanding and Advocating for Families with Children with Special Needs”. Presented by a panel of parents, advocates, and professionals.   Listen to a panel discussion of parents, advocates and professionals about how to navigate the Regional Center, medical insurance and public school systems for identification, therapy and support for children with special needs and their families. Learn what to expect, how to proceed through mitigation, litigation and fight for the services children need for healthy lives and hear firsthand from those going through the processes now. Teachers and parents alike need to be informed about these processes so that children can begin to receive help at the earliest possible developmental stages. —————————————————————————————————-   Each seminar will cost $26 individually.
